Rockies Go For First Win of Season Against Marlins in Miami

Regular-season baseball returned earlier this week and it continues on Tuesday night in Miami when the Marlins host the Colorado Rockies in each team’s second game. Miami roughed up the Rockies on Monday night, 10-1, with Jose Fernandez on the mound. Fernandez cannot pitch every night for Miami, which is why we like the Rockies to rebound with the win on Tuesday at Marlins Park as they even their record at 1-1 early in the season.

Rockies offense will come around

Colorado has an excellent lineup, with young bats behind the plate and at third base to go along with Troy Tulowitzki and Carlos Gonzalez. The only run on Monday night came from the bat of Gonzalez, who hit a monster home run to center field off Fernandez. The two exchanged friendly barbs as Gonzalez rounded the bases, but nothing came of it. Colorado should be able to rebound tonight on the road. They send Brett Anderson to the hill.

Marlins looking for back-to-back wins

Miami has not opened the season with back-to-back wins in five years. They have the chance to do just that on Tuesday night at home. If Miami wants to compete this season, which is unlikely, they will need pitchers not named Fernandez to step-up and win games. Nate Eovaldi takes the hill for the Marlins on Tuesday in game two of this four game set to open the season. Eovaldi is 1-2 with a 3.22 ERA in four career starts against the Rockies.

We head over to the online sportsbook found at TopBet.eu to find the odds for tonight’s MLB contest between the Rockies and the Marlins from Florida. Here the Rockies are road chalk to even their record at one win apiece. We expect an offensive explosion for Colorado tonight, so we will drop 15 percent of our bankroll on the Rockies and the OVER seven total runs scored at -115.
