Oakland Out to Become Second Team to 50 Wins in The Majors Today

Oakland can become the second team in the Majors to reach the 50-win plateau with a win over the Marlins in Miami on Saturday afternoon. Milwaukee reached the mark on Friday night with a walk-off win. The Athletics will hand the ball to Sonny Gray, who is 7-3 with a 2.91 ERA so far this season. Miami will ask Nathan Eovaldi to end a brief, two-game losing streak for the Marlins. We will back Oakland on the road in this contest tonight.

Athletics the toast of the American League

With their lead in the AL West, the Athletics are quite possibly the best division leader in the American League. This team is solid in all facets of the game, including late-inning wins. When tied or trailing after the eighth inning, Oakland has won a league-high 11 games this season. The A’s were tied at five in the ninth on Friday night with Miami before they scored four times en route to a game one victory.

Marlins still in contention in the NL East

With the National League East one of the weakest divisions in baseball this year, the Marlins are just 2.5 games out of first even though they are two games under the .500 mark. Despite their loss on Friday to Oakland, the Marlins are still one of the better home teams in the league with a 25-19 record. They have the most home wins in the National League and the second-most in the Majors.

Betting on Major League Baseball this Saturday finds us at Sportsbook.ag to put money down on the Marlins and the Athletics from Miami. Oakland is favored on the road today, which is understandable with Gray on the mound. We are going to bet 10 percent of our bankroll on Oakland and the -159 money line as they take game two of this three-game set from the Marlins on Saturday.
