NCAA Football Rankings Could Get Rattled Again This Week
- Category :
The national playoffs, major bowl considerations and bragging rights are on the line as six Top 10 college football teams collide this weekend.
As of this week, Georgia, Alabama, Notre Dame and Clemson hold down the four spots in the FBS national playoffs.
One loss and, poof, it’s gone.
If the Bulldogs and Crimson Tide both run the table, they will meet in the SEC championship game in Atlanta on December 2. If they are undefeated heading into this game, both schools could still earn a trip to the final four.
Let’s take a look at the three games where Top 10 teams are playing one another this weekend. From there, we will try and pick a two-game parlay (odds provided by bovada).
Lots On The Line In Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry
No. 1 Georgia at No. 10 Auburn — The Bulldogs (9-0) have been double-digit favorites for the last five weeks. Now, they tackle one of their toughest tests of the year in the Tigers (7-2).
Georgia has played four road games this season, and they have covered the spread in each one of those victories. Auburn is 3-5-1 ATS. The Tigers have played their last three games on the road and they have won six of their last seven.
The Bulldogs have won nine of the last 11 meetings between these two rivals, who first played each other in 1892. Expect a low scoring game in the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry as two outstanding defenses dominate the line of scrimmage.
TCU Must Contain Oklahoma’s Star Quarterback
No. 6 TCU at No. 5 Oklahoma — Did you watch the track meet in Stillwater, Okla., last weekend? The Sooners (8-1) and Oklahoma State Cowboys raced up and down the field all day, with Oklahoma coming out on top 62-52. The over/under on that game was 74, which the Sooners almost beat on their own.
Oklahoma has allowed 114 points in its last three games. TCU (8-1) has allowed 27 points in their last four. The Sooners are 5-4 ATS, TCU is 6-3.
Heisman frontrunner Baker Mayfield likely won’t throw for almost 600 yards and five touchdowns like he did last week, but he will certainly be the focus of the TCU defense.
Notre Dame Undefeated On The Road This Year
No. 3 Notre Dame at No. 7 Miami — The Fighting Irish (8-1) roll into Miami with one of the nation’s best rushing games. They have gained at least 318 yards on the ground in their last five games.
The Hurricanes (8-0) will have to find a way to slow down running back Josh Adams and quarterback Brandon Wimbush or they could be in for a long night.
Miami has won 13 in a row dating back to last season. Notre Dame is 7-2 ATS this season and 3-0 on the road. The Hurricanes are 4-4 ATS and coming off a huge win over Virginia Tech.
VGB’s college football Week 11 parlay pick — Take Georgia (-3) over Auburn and Notre Dame (-3.5) over Miami. If both teams beat the spread, the payoff is $64.48. If either team loses against the spread, the ticket is void.
