Braves Not Out of NL East Race Just Yet as Series With Marlins Continues
- Category :
As the season prepares to move into its final month, the Braves are still within striking distance in the NL East race. They sit just six games out of first behind the Nationals, who struggled earlier this week. Atlanta needs to win games against lesser teams, especially the Marlins, if they want to compete in the division to finish the season. Miami looks to play the role of spoiler, but Atlanta is our favorite in this contest on Saturday night.
Braves leaning on veteran Harang to get job done
Aaron Harang will be handed the ball on Saturday in hopes of securing a second straight victory for the Braves in this series. He is 10-8 with an ERA of 3.60 this year for Atlanta. After their series opening win on Friday night, the Braves have won three straight and reinforced the notion that the race for the NL East title is not done. They are still breathing down the backs of the Nationals.
Marlins like what they’ve seen so far from Cosart
Jarred Cosart has been impressive since joining the Marlins at the trade deadline from the Astros. He is 2-1 with a 2.08 ERA. The last time he faced Atlanta he as a member of the Astros. He grabbed the win in that game, on June 26, by allowing just one run in seven innings pitched. He will look to dominate the Braves lineup again, this time for the division rival Marlins. He looks to be a mainstay in the Marlins rotation.
As the Braves and Marlins prepare for their NL East battle Saturday night, we will prepare our wager at Bovada.lv, where Atlanta is favored to win this contest. We are going to bet 10 percent of our bankroll on Atlanta and the -135 money line as they take the second game of this series.
