49ers And Saints Meet in Battle of Struggling 4-4 Teams Sunday Afternoon

Who would have thought that the San Francisco 49ers would be 4-4 eight games into the year? With the same token, who would have thought that the Saints would be 4-4? These two teams have struggled at times this season on both sides of the ball. San Francisco has trouble getting it going on offense every now and then, while New Orleans has trouble stopping opponents’ offenses while on defense. We are going to back the host Saints on Sunday in what could be a high-scoring affair.

Saints atop surprisingly bad NFC South

The NFC South is absolutely brutal this season. The 4-4 Saints are atop the division by one game over the 3-5-1 Panthers, who play Monday night in Philadelphia. The Saints have finally seen their points-per-game and points-allowed averages even themselves out. New Orleans is finally averaging more points scored per game than points allowed, which has helped them win two straight games and even their record.

49ers in danger of missing playoffs this season

With a 4-4 record, the 49ers are in a lot of trouble in the NFC West. They are three games behind the first-place Cardinals and just one game ahead of the last-place Rams. San Francisco is in danger of missing the playoffs for the first time in head coach Jim Harbaugh’s career. San Francisco is coming off a disappointing loss to the Rams last week when quarterback Colin Kaepernick fumbled at the goal line towards the end of the game to end their shot at winning.

On Sunday afternoon, when the Saints host the 49ers in New Orleans, we will place our wager over at Sportsbook.ag. The Saints are 5.5-point favorites to win this contest. We will drop 15 percent of our bankroll on New Orleans and the -240 money line as the Saints move to 5-4 with their third straight victory and keep a handle on the NFC South.
